1 Sulphur Dyes
Fast dyes that contain sulphur and are used for dyeing cotton fabrics, mostly in dark shades. Nearly all colours except reds have been produced in this group. The sulphur blacks, blues and browns are among the fastest dyes produced. They are fast to light, washing, acids and perspiration (see Dyes) -

6 Sulphur Bleach
A bleaching process used mainly for animal fibres and jute. Sulphurous acid bleach is applied either as gas or liquid. The gas is produced by burning sulphur in the air which gives sulphurous acid gas fumes. The liquid is obtained by saturating water with this gas. The gas method is generally used. -
